I'm about to cry. Kirby just broke. Those of you that have known me for a while, know that this is very traumatic to me. I love my Kirby. Really. Things like this don't normally bother me, but I seriously am going to cry. I don't think it is a completely dead kind of injury but still. She and I have done some beautiful cleaning together. I just want her to be better....so I can finish cleaning my house. I love my vacuum cleaner. It's been a good 7+ years.

Get thee to a Kirby repair shop! Of course, our Kirby lost a wheel over a year ago and still haven't fixed it. Since downstairs is all wood laminate it's not so traumatic.
Oh but I use mine on all of my hard surfaces too and to dust. I use it every day. I NEVER sweep.
I'm finding lots of fix it sites online, so I am hoping it is something easy. The D/N switch just popped out of the back of it while I was vacuuming. I'm sure my 4 and 2 year olds know nothing about it.
Oh noooooooooooo!!!
We have a Dyson and I love it. That thing has been a workhorse. But, you'll probably want a new Kirby, huh?
Kelly, bite your tongue. I'm hoping it isn't dead.
It can't be dead. My grandmother had a Kirby for many, many years - as long as I knew her. The same one. You can get it fixed. I have faith!!!
