Friday Kid Update
I need to be more diligent in kiddos updates, so I will try to do this every Friday.
Joshua- He's so articulate and cracks us up. He has never met a stranger. His most recent "thing" is to go up and say hi to someone new, almost always an adult. Conversation goes something like this.
J- Hi, what's your name?
Stranger- Name, what's your name?
J- My name is Joshua and that's Leah and Hannah. And her name is Christi, but we call her Mommy. And his name is Robert but we call him Daddy, actually.
It is the same conversation every time. It makes me laugh, every time!!! The actually is what really makes it funny.
Leah- Is a big girl. She is potty trained now. Hardly even wakes in the morning wet any more. She keeps up with Joshua, no problem. She LOVES hats, purple, pink and dirt. Girl would live outside in the dirt, if we'd let her!
Hannah- Has her two bottom teeth in. Is rolling around every where. Not crawling or scooting at all but rolls or spins to what she needs. She is sitting up great and can't wait to meet Texas. ;-)

Wish me luck. After quitting all exercise because of my headaches for about three months now, I think...I"ll have to go back and check my blog to make sure...anyway, today I get back on the wagon. I've got Richard Simmon's 80's Blast Off coming in the mail thanks to good ole Netflix. I should lose pounds just from laughing if nothing else. I'll of course come back and rate the workout. I really hope I don't get a headache!
In other news, Robert finally scheduled our cable to be turned off! I was ready in November, but he's been working 2 full time jobs and just hasn't had the extra 5 minutes. Anyway, the guy came on Tues and took the box. He said he didn't have the trap he needed to block the video feed so he'd be back to do that. He hasn't come back. We still have cable, except I think it is free now. Not sure how I feel about this. I did tell Joshua that cable is gone and he even helped me disconnect the box, so I don't have to answer the "can we watch some kid tv" question a bazillion times a day any more. That's nice! This could be the best of all worlds, lol.

Not Crushed Any More
Ok, I'm better now. It was just some memories written down. Oh well. I've lost more in a fire before. I guess God has just meant for me to pay attention to today and not worry about yesterday. And so I do. I mean, after all, I have an extremely blessed today. My husband is awesome! Really, spoils me like crazy, even though I'm a big ole brat. My kids love me even though I'm not the greatest Mommy of all time, I know because they tell me that they love me every day. My baby is just about the easiest baby on the planet, I know this too because our church friends tell me all the time, lol. I have a comfortable house to live in, lost of healthy food to eat, oils to keep me healthy and in 4 weeks I get to go home to Texas!!! My life is really stinkin good! Thank you to all of you that contacted me about losing my journal, just another reminder how good my life is, I have lots of people that love me enough to read my silly ramblings on the computer.
Yes, in 4 weeks, I will once again set foot on the wonderful soil that is Texas. Awww. I can't wait. The kids and I will be in W Texas for a couple of days and then grab Robert from the airport in Austin and head off to Houston. We will fry ourselves in the sun by the lake and pool and enjoy some yummy Mexican food! AND another awesome Seago wedding. It'll be a blast. Of course, Leah is quite sure we are going there to see fireworks for her birthday! lol!
We had a great weekend. Saturday we did some shopping and actually bought Mommy some clothes that fit. (Did I mention that I'm spoiled?) And ate some super yummy 5 Guys burgers and fries. Sunday was pretty low key. Church and then hanging out around the house, got some grocery shopping done. Yesterday we got some chores done around here and then went to the Memorial Day party at our pastor's house. It was fun. Robert even got to play some ball and he was so excited to get some exercise in. He really misses playing full court basketball every day and just hasn't found an exercise outlet here yet.
Ok, off to decide if it is too early to start packing for our trip, lol!

Crushed
I woke up in a great mood this morning. Got up did dishes and got breakfast. After I got Hannah down for a nap, I got online to eat breakfast, my usual routine. Then it all came crashing down. Most of you will find this very silly but some of you will understand.
I went to www.weddingchannel.com. This was the site I found when planning my wedding and after we got married I started a newlywed journal there. I documented our story and our life as a newlywed. I also made some life long friends there. I journaled thru our first years of marriage including our three year struggle to have a baby and then the birth of sweet Joshua. I journaled about our moving across country, leaving the workplace, our journey to healthier living and leaving pharmaceutical drugs behind. I don't scrap book or any other memory storing, I journal. I have since 2002 and have a great collection of stories and memories to share with my children in case I'm not here to share it with them. I should say I HAD. The WC has deleted everything. All of it gone. I'm so so so crushed. I have been thinking I needed to go over there and copy it onto our hard drive for months even years. I go and check on my journal regularly, like a little baby...making sure it is still there and ok. And now it's not. And I'm not ok. I'm very very sad.

Although we were back in the 30's again last night, it is warming up here. THis week is supposed to be gorgeous. I think we might hit 70 today and then sunny and 70's and maybe even 80 this week. YIPPEE!!! The kids and I might just set up a week long outdoors camp. Today we are off for a picnic and then exploring in the local metropark. The metroparks here have a green riding/running and then driving trail that goes thru the entire city. It is supposed to be lovely to drive. Maybe we will someday. All of the little parts I've seen are nice. One of the sections in our town has a little river and waterfall that you can fish at. Someday, we might go do that too.
Robert is making an offer to a guy for the Quality Manager position today!!! I really hope this guy gets on board and quick. It'll be nice to have my husband back to working just one full time job!

We have a freeze warning tonight. Really, how do people live here?????? I guess I'll be able to answer that in a few years but still....UGH!
We bought our tickets for our trip to Texas last night! YEA!!! I CANNOT wait to be warm, maybe I'll even sweat some. And MEXICAN FOOD!!!!!!!! I love me some mexican food!
Last week was super busy for us, but this week is wide open right now. The weather is supposed to be nice this week, so hopefully we'll do some good nature studies and other fun stuff outside.

Two big things! Hopefully this weekend I can do a real update.
First, and the most exciting news in a long long time is that our friends Greg and Cara of went to Haiti this week and picked up their two sons, Justin and Peterson, and brought them HOME! If you haven't followed their journey, you should go over and read back thru it now. It is amazingly beuatiful. A wonderful story of God's blessings in good and bad! Praise God for His blessings. Thank you for the blessing of children.
Second, Hannah had her first tooth come thru yesterday!!!!!!! I'm so proud. Only took 8 months and 9 days. She's not near so clingy although I think she is close on at least one more, maybe more.

What a truly blessed woman I am! I have had the most awesome weekend with the most amazing people....my husband and children.
Friday, Robert came home from work and asked what I wanted to do for dinner because it was the beginning of my weekend. So, we headed out for Applebees but then decided on Red Lobster instead. It was Robert and I's first time there and we were pretty impressed. It was pricey so we won't eat there much but it was all good stuff. I even had a daiquiri. We were cracking up because I hadn't had a drink in a long long long time and after about 4 sips, I was already going "whoo". It was fun.
Saturday, Robert and the kids got up got their stuff together and came up and surprised me in bed wiht my birthday card (musical of course, my kids love those cards) and gift. We headed out to Amish country with my new GPS. We made it to the farm to pick up milk about 11. It was fun because all the kids were outside working. Joshua and Leah played in their sandbox with their younger children and we got to visit with Arlie and Ada for awhile. I would love to get to be friends with them and learn more from them. Maybe over time we will. The kids had a blast. We left there and headed to Mrs Yoder's Kitchen. I love that place. I was in real trouble this time because they had my broasted chicken on the buffet. We all STUFFED ourselves. I think Joshua had 5 pieces of chicken, lol!!! I won't mention how many I had. From there, we head to Ashery's. It is a little grocery shop. I needed to stock up on more Amish jellies and they just happen to have ice cream too. So we all got some and sat outside and enjoyed it. I love how peaceful things are there. Time just moves slower in Amish country. We took back roads all the way back to Medina, a luxury we haven't had before without the GPS. We'd love to live out there but it is just too far from Robert's plant. So, we just enjoy the time we do get to spend there.
We made it home and got a little down time before heading out to dinner at Houlihan's. We had eaten there a few weeks ago and my salad was not good, so I wrote them and told them and got a gift card from them. Also, if you sign up for their club then you get a free entree on your birthday! SOOO, I of course ordered their $23 steak and shrimp entree....for free which made it super yummy. lol! We all had big yummy meals including home made ice cream and a free birthday dessert for me all for $14, ROFL!!!! Now that is a birthday treat! The kids were all tired and fussy and unsettled from the ice cream that afternoon, so Robert and I just had half our meals and headed home, stuffed and happy. We got the kids to bed and Robert and I snuggled up and watched Once, may current favorite movie. It is the first soundtrack that I've ever wanted to own.
This morning, Robert and the kids "surprised" me again in bed with my Mother's Day card. Then we all jumped into action to make it to church in time. Robert hurried us all along fast enough so that he could get me a treat of Starbuck's on the way to church. After church, we came home and ate our leftover's from last night. Then the big kids and I got some quick naps and then we all did some yard work together. After that we headed out once again to.....you guessed it, eat (lol). Robert was taking us to Longhorn Steak House, one of my faves.....why yes, I am a steak and potatoes girl. We drove up and the line was CRAZY. I already felt like a stuffed hog, so I suggested we just run over to a burger joint in the mall, in the same parking lot. Well......that was the best decision! We tried a place called Five Guys and it was one of the best burger's I've had in years. Hand made patties, nice and juice and greasy...yummy and homemade fries! It was awesome. Robert and I were sooo happy. We had a place in Magnolia we used to go to for a good greasy burger but it closed a few years ago and we havne't had a great one since....until tonight!! We all stuffed ourselves and were so happy. Then, because we just hadn't eaten to the point of total rediculous grossness this weekend yet, we headed to a local ice cream shoppe. Man, that was a GREAT decision too. Seriously, sooooo sooooo sooooo good! We are so happy to have found both of these little places.
And I am one miserably stuffed and grossly full, happy happy happy Momma!

Leah came in this morning and told me that to day is Scar Moot. Guess that means that it is Friendsday.
What you don't speak Leah ease??? Today is Wednesday and tonight is small group. She actually can say both of those just fine but she and Joshua talk about it so much that they've made up silly names. I think Joshua is calling it small suit this week. LOL! They crack me up.
Hannah might have teeth by my birthday and I bet she is crawling in the next few weeks. She is pushing up on her arms alot. Doesn't look like she'll be an army crawler, so no swiffer pj's here this time.
Robert had a promising phone interview with a guy yesterday. Man, I hope he is the one and Robert can be back to just one full time job soon!
We drive to Amish country for milk this week. That means yummy Mrs Yoder's Kitchen for lunch!!! Be still my clogged arteries!

I'm bored. I should get up and do something productive but instead I'm just sitting here being bored. Normally, I'd read but I'm not in the mood....think that is the first time I've ever said that in my life.
Robert was sick all week. Like in bed and not even fighting my home remedies sick. He's finally doing better today. Hope I don't get it. I'm the only one in the house that hasn't so far.
Hannah is so big. She's saying Dada and Bubba. No Mama or Lele yet. She's sitting up on her own and starting to learn to wave. She's a cutie and a happy baby, especially if Mommy is holding her, which was constant this week. She's also started doing scrunchy face, which I know Mark and Cole remember from a few years back. I have pics to post.
Joshua is growin up so much. He was running around naked tonight waiting to take a shower with Robert and I was just shocked how big and gangily he is now a days. His body is definitly ahead of his brain right now. He randomly falls for no reason whatsoever and I think he has to have a permanent dent in this head from all of the walls he's constantly running into. Goofy boy. He's reading really well. Too well. He sat down and started reading some of my email today. Not ready for that. We can't even spell anything over their heads anymore to adult communicate because he figures out what we are spelling. I guess Robert and I are going to have to learn to text each other or something.
Leah is getting really big too. Her hair is so long and as she will quickly tell you, pretty! She loves all things pretty. Her potty training is pretty much done. She is still in a pull up at night and naps but usually wakes up dry even then. She does have the normal issue every now and then about just deciding to keep playing until the last minute and not quite making it on the potty in time. She's smart too. She's picking up alot just from me teaching Joshua and she gets annoyed when I don't let her do the exact some school work as him.
I'll be glad when the Nascar race is over so we can go to bed. Church tomorrow and lots of cooking. I'm taking freezer meals over to my friend Bonnie that lost her husband a few weeks ago, so I'm trying to get a good selection cooked up for her.
Oh and I need book suggestions. I'm out of reading material. I don't read much fiction. Won't read romance, even "Christian romance". Don't like scary books either.
